New Beginnings

01 Jan

With the calendar turning over we have what is almost always the most hopeful part of the year. If you’re anything like the majority of Americans you’re probably making resolutions and determining that this year is one that will see you making progress in leaps and bounds. With this renewed sense of focus the plan is to control that which eluded in the past. Well allow me to remind and reinforce the maxim that the journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. In order to change what first must change is your thoughts.  Our minds lead our actions, which turn into habits, which turns into character.

“The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.” That’s VERY true. I think sometimes we get so caught up in lofty ambitions and “I’ma do this, and this, and this this new year”… that we forget you have to take that first step towards it. You have to build up to it for it to come to fruition. I’m on the same mindset, but having read this, I’m no longer as concerned about completing the bigger goals, as I am about making the smaller things fall into place that will lay the foundation for the bigger goals to take shape.
