“The Thread” is an ongoing conversation about everything. It began as a private discussion among alumni three years ago, but recently we’ve decided to open up the conversation to you for a few reasons. First off, no matter the topic, our conversations are always entertaining (and sometimes insightful and thought-provoking). We are made up of a diverse group of people in every way. Hipsters. Lawyers. Moralists. Women. Leftists. Christians. Black People. Moderates. Weed-smokers. Men. Hip-Hop Heads. Drunks. Virgins. Sex Gurus. Students. Sports Nuts. White People. Engineers. Assholes. Nice Guys. We even have an Astros fan. Everything. This diversity and difference in point of view makes our ongoing conversations very unique and never boring.
Secondly, we want to engage the public in discourse. While we have become accustomed to broaching these (occasionally controversial) issues from a variety of angles amongst ourselves, we want to learn from others and live out our convictions in the open. Lastly, we want to extend an invite to you to join our ongoing conversation. So jump right in. Challenge us. Agree with us. Call the entire idea of “The Thread” a bad one. Whatever you’d like. We just ask that you read with an open-mind and a thick skin, both pre-requisites to joining “The Thread.” We want to know what you think, so let us know, and enjoy!
